So far on Postcrossing I've received 8 cards through "official swaps" and two from private swaps.
My first card came from a college student in Taiwan, she sent a postcard she got in Thailand when she visited there, featuring Thai monks.
it had great stamps too! |
Next I got this beautiful card of crocusses from a lady living near Cologne, Germany. I love the crocusses, when they show their bright happy faces, you know your going to make it through the winter!
Then I got this wonderful card of French Chateaus from a lady living in the Loire Valley. These are so beautiful, and it makes me think of watching the Tour de France where the showcase some of the beautiful French chateaus from their helicopter cameras.
Then this fun card of "Commander Riker" in "Star Trek, the Next Generation" played by Jonathan Frakes from a Star Trek fan in Wisconsin. This brought back memories of watching this back in High School. I thought Riker was the man!
With clock stamps & a shamrock for St. Paddy's day! |
Then I got this funny card from a Russian student studying in Dublin, Ireland. I love the mouse's expression.
Then this past week I got this fantastic postcard of Bran Castle in Romania complete with a knight from a Romanian couple. It is a really nice card, oversized, matte on the castle & shiny on the knight.
Then yesterday I got two cards! One was this fun & funky card from a cat called Kraznyi and it's family in the Netherlands. I love oddity of it!
interesting stamps & a flower drawing |
The other was this fun card from "Billy G. Nome" and his human companion in Pittsburgh. I love this concept. Billy is in front of "The Igloo" in Pittsburgh, the former home of the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) hockey team; also called "Mellon Arena".
Purple Heart stamp |
You can also do "private swaps" where a specific person contacts you to do a swap, so far I've received two cards this way. One from a man in Utah who sent me this beautiful postcard of the Cache Valley in Utah after I favorited it on the web site. I like it very much, as my family comes from that part of the world.
The other was my first private swap, this funny little dog, sent from a lady in Hong Kong, with fantastic stamps!
